You may remember a few days ago I posted a photo of dead Rosebay Willowherb with a white feather. You can see the photograph here I couldn’t remember what the plant was called but Caroline kindly told me.
I realised today when I was doing some editing that I had taken some photos of the seeds of the Rosebay Willowherb ( not the exact same plant) on the 13th Jan at Cambridge Botanic gardens..
There was a breeze that day and the seeds are so very delicate that they were moving all the time but I like the blurriness..
That’s exactly what it was doing Karen.. I was annoyed that the breeze wouldn’t stop ( and I was on my way home and cold by the time I spotted these !) but now I rather like the effect..
These are some great photos! Stop by and say hi 🙂
Thanks Christina I’ll surely stop by.
They look a little like Milkweed, but the name is so much prettier!
I can see the resemblance in the seeds Scilla but the plants are quite different.
second one is fantastic, lovely set of images Helen, soft and romantic
Thanks Lisa.. I was lucky with the light on these shots. I know how much you like romantic 😉
So delicate and weightless, the second image looks to be moving in breeze.

Delightful textures and sense of ‘airiness’.
Thank you Louis… they really were so very delicate.
I see iI am not the only one who thinks the seeds look a lot like milkweed silk.
The photos are very nice.
Thank you Sandy.. I think the main difference in the seed is that the milkweed seed has a much flatter and bigger actual seed.
They look so fragile … and so beautiful !!
I think it was the late evening sunlight that made these so lovely, Mathias.
Fantastic! I love the movement of the seeds in the photos
Thank you eof.. I’m glad you like them 🙂
