Continuing my Long Trip series but also taking part in the Lens Artist Challenge hosted by Jude of Cornwall in Colours blog, of Lens-Artists Photo A Week Challenge. The challenge was Textures and I am a little late with my post! Click on one of the photos to scroll through larger images.
You can see other posts in the The Long Trip series here
If you are viewing on a phone you may need to click on “View full site” which will be right at the very bottom of the page, you will then be able to view the photos with a black background, as they should be viewed.
I love to hear what you have to say about anything I post.
If you don’t already know my other blog 1500 Saturdays I hope you’ll pop over and take a look, though I don’t post much these days here
These are simply gorgeous, Helen!
Aww thank you
I love all of these! Helen xx

Really nice Helen, beautiful contrasts in each one.
Thank you so much
Beautiful. What is 6: blocks of peat?
It is indeed blocks of peat or Turf . Piled like this to keep dry ready for burning on the fire
Lots of lovely textures here Helen, I like the way you have gone in close. But what is that first one? #8
Thank you for joining me in the challenge this week.
Thanks Jude.. I think everyone seems to be seeing these in a different order depending on what device they are viewing on but my No 8 is part of a plastic polytunnel . So plastic pulled tight over huge metal hoops. Hope that’s the one you mean
Yup. that’s the one. Couldn’t quite work out what it was and I would never have guessed at that! Just proof that you don’t need to know the object to have a great texture photo.
Thank you for showing us the beauty of textures, Helen!
You are most welcome and thanks for visiting
These are marvelous Helen – each one is so crisp you can almost feel them just by looking. Well done!
Awww. Thank you Tina
