A Little Bit of Photoshop tomfoolery !

.

Next week is the Annual Photography competition at my local camera club.  There are 6 categories and you have to enter 5 of them, with photos you have never entered before.. They have changed the categories this year and one of the new ones  is  called Creative and as I can’t enter the Sport category, because I never shoot sport, I had to enter the Creative one… hmmm what to do..

It had to be something imaginative the rules said and suggested some sort of composite.. I’ve never done anything like this before ( apart from a rather amateurish snail one ages ago) but this is what I came up with using 3 separate photos. Long-time followers of this blog will recognise 2 of them.  It was great fun to do but as you can see I have a lot to learn!

It’s called “In the Bluebell Wood, dreaming of flying “

  1. Well done Helen it works very well and has a great narrative content, I hope you let us know how you got on……you never know how a judge will respond. The most difficult part of a montage is getting the original idea and finding suitable material, and that’s what I find particularly difficult….the initial idea.
    Well done.

  2. Oh I think this is great, Helen! I’ve never attempted anything like this, I wouldn’t know where to start, but this looks very good indeed – and the more so as a first attempt. Good stuff! Adrian 🙂

  3. A poetic and well crafted image Helen, brilliant actually if it’s your first. Did you need to learn Photo Shop to put this together? I’ve been tempted but it looks like a steep learning curve. Good luck in the competition…

    • Thanks John.. I did need to learn it a bit ,I attended a course put on by a local camera club but actually learnt more from a friend of mine.. There is MUCH to learn.. I have Elements which is a pared down version of Photoshop and very good.
