Photos and poetry 2 – I am Completely Different
.
I love both photography and poetry so from time-to-time I am going to combine them ( often rather loosely as in this case ! ) which I hope you’ll enjoy.
You can see the first in the Photos and Poetry series here
I believe that poetry is best read aloud so do give it a try.
.
I Am Completely Different
I am completely different.
Though I am wearing the same tie as yesterday,
am as poor as yesterday,
as good for nothing as yesterday,
today
I am completely different.
Though I am wearing the same clothes,
am as drunk as yesterday,
living as clumsily as yesterday, nevertheless
today
I am completely different.
Ah …
I patiently close my eyes
on all the grins and smirks
on all the twisted smiles and horse laughs—
and glimpse then, inside me
one beautiful white butterfly
fluttering towards tomorrow.

That’s what another friend of mine said when I posted your clip on facebook.. so I can see I need to get hold of a copy!
A lovely poem. The picture is so good. I like the sinous movement of the bar as a contrast to the straightness of the others.
Thank you Britta-Karin.. I’m glad you like the photo and the poem is just lovely I think..
The poem is so close to the truth that I am touched to the heart…
Thank you John.. I cried when I first read it..
