Itsy Bitsy in glorious colour
A few days ago I posted a photo of a little spider Itsy Bitsy promising to post some more so here it is in glorious colour.
By the way I believe it is an Araneus Cucurbitina or maybe Araniella cucurbitina, nicknamed the cucumber spider. I hope if there’s any arachnologists out there they can put me right 🙂
What I do know is that this beautiful green and red spider is approx 6-7 mm ( or 1/4 inch) long. In other words… itsy bitsy !
Now will he come down??
.
Here he goes !!!
.
See? You can find something worth looking at on a web…you just have to find the right web! (scroll way past page one on Google…)
haha very good Scilla !
Excellent photos Helen…but they really aren’t what I want to be thinking about at bed-time…he might be only millimetres, but thats perfectly big enough to crawl in to my open snoring mouth, up through my sinuses and into my brain where he will start to eat…..CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP!!!!! AAAARGH!!!!
Please..NO MORE SPIDERS!!!!
Well you should go to bed earlier then !
Then I’d wake up to your blog and be on edge for the rest of the day……
(Only spider type posts of course…everything else would leave me fired up and raring to go..)
Wow, so colourful and cool looking. Great captures, Helen!
Thanks Karen.. he is a little charmer 😀
What a beautiful creature. Like a little seed with legs. I think he’s my new favorite spider. I’m in love! (Where are you? Where does he live?)
He lives in my garden in Cambridgeshire here in the UK Anna 🙂
Reblogged this on Found Round & About and commented:

Ah, he is so cute! If only all spiders were this size and this pretty. Super series of shots.
Thanks Rachael… I’m finding that starting small with spiders ( or even miniscule!) is a great way to get to like them ..
Is he handsome or not I am not sure BUT you are great photographer dear Helen. These are amazing, you captured them so beautifully and artistic… Thank you, with my love, nia
maybe pretty rather than handsome Nia 🙂
I love that I can even see the web. Yes, he’s quite handsome.
