Itsy Bitsy in glorious colour

A few days ago I posted a photo of a little spider Itsy Bitsy promising to post some more so here it is in glorious colour.

By the way I believe it is an Araneus Cucurbitina or maybe Araniella cucurbitina, nicknamed the cucumber spider.  I hope if there’s any arachnologists out there they can put me right 🙂

What I do know is that this beautiful green and red spider is approx 6-7 mm ( or 1/4 inch) long. In other words… itsy bitsy !

 Now will he come down??

.

Here he goes !!!

.

Nearly there

Safely down where he wants to be

.

Don’t you think he’s a handsome fella ??  and isn’t lavender lovely and wooly when you look at it up close..

  1. Excellent photos Helen…but they really aren’t what I want to be thinking about at bed-time…he might be only millimetres, but thats perfectly big enough to crawl in to my open snoring mouth, up through my sinuses and into my brain where he will start to eat…..CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP!!!!! AAAARGH!!!!
    Please..NO MORE SPIDERS!!!!

  2. Is he handsome or not I am not sure BUT you are great photographer dear Helen. These are amazing, you captured them so beautifully and artistic… Thank you, with my love, nia
