Weekly Photo Challenge: The Sign Says

I was at the Strawberry Fair in Cambridge today ( there will be a 1500 Saturdays post when I get around to writing it! ) and there were lots of signs around..

I thought this first one was rather amusing !!

I’m not at all sure what they are suggesting !!

(in reality they were suggesting people swap clothes with others rather than throwing them away! )

.

.

These next 2 were rather more serious!

.

For my non-Uk readers the so called “bedroom tax” is briefly this.  “Welfare reforms will cut the amount of benefit that people can get if they are deemed to have a spare bedroom in their council or housing association home.”

This applies to those who get assistance with housing benefit from the government. It is designed to get people to move from say a 2 bedroomed house to a 1 bedroomed flat except there aren’t enough of them..by a mile !. If you don’t move you have your benefit cut so it’s really a way of cutting the benefits bill. Punishing the poorest as usual. Even if there were properties how are some of these people supposed to afford the costs of moving when the very fact they get housing benefit indicates they are poor !! I’ll stop now. If you want to know more have a look here. http://speye.wordpress.com/2013/01/31/bedroom-tax-for-dummies/

Stop the bedroom tax sign

.

I very much like the sentiment of this last one !
