Below are parts of the plant that I’ve been photographing over the past few days and it is the wild carrot or Daucus Carota ( which I found on the edge of some local woodland ) when you lightly crush the seed heads they smell of carrots .  The other names for it are Bird’s – Nest Weed  and Queen Anne’s Lace. It is the ancestor of the garden carrot and was once thought to cure epilepsy and stitch. 

I can tell you now  that when I started this series of posts I had NO idea what it was 🙂
