Architecture 2 – The Perlan

Yesterday I showed you a spiral staircase  here today I thought I’d show you the building it was attached to – The Perlan in Reykyavik.

There is no doubt that the Icelandic people have a great eye for design. I love this building and it’s just as impressive inside.

This is a view of the back with the staircase-

and of the front entrance.

  1. I love architecture, shapes, abstracts so much to capture, the amount of times I am driving around and see potential shots, but need to find the time to do them! nice compositions Helen x

  2. Nice pictures Helen but did you mean to leave the front entrance one lop-sided? Serious question, not meant to be ironic (or do I mean ironical? I’m not sure which is right) or anything! Some architectural photographs are deliberately left that way(or even manipulated to be that way) for the effect it creates.

If you didn’t, did you know that there is a tool in Photoshop that will square it up?

    • To be absolutely truthful Steve there were so many people in and out of the entrance it was almost impossible to get a shot with no-one in it… I had pretty much given up and was moving away and suddenly there was no-one there so just took my chance.. I know I could straighten it but don’t want to 🙂 as I rather like it the way it is… showing off the red nicely..
